DocCat is a filter program for Solaris/Linux/FreeBSD which extracts text information from Windows document files, such as MS-Word etc, with high accuracy and ultra-high speed.
The program is text extraction software in executable form and can be used in combination with NAMAZU (a full-text search engine) to create a full-text search system on an intranet, or with a mail server to read out documents attached to mail messages received by cellular phones, etc.

[Academic Price]
(1) Institutions eligible for the academic price are required to be educational institutions as defined below:
<Educational Institutions as defined in the School Education Law>
Schools [Primary Schools, Lower Secondary Schools, High Schools, Secondary Education Schools, Universities (including Junior Colleges, Graduate Schools and the University of the Air) and Colleges]
<Other Educational Institutions>
Local Boards of Education, Education Centers established by the central government or local governments for the purpose of teacher training, Educational Research Centers and Public Human Resource Development Centers.
(2) The name of the school (or educational institution) that will be end-user of the program is required at the time of ordering.

[License Details]
(1) The software can be installed and used on 1 computer (1 CPU). There is no limit on the number of users.
(2) The number of CPUs in regard to this program is taken as the number of CPUs installed in 1 computer
(3) The academic price is not applicable in cases when the purpose of usage is a commercial site or paid service.

[1 Year Maintenance Service]
(1) The fee for the first year of maintenance is included in the product price.
(2) For fees for maintenance from the second year, refer to the 1 Year Maintenance Service price list.
(3) There is no academic price for maintenance service.
